Pi devan also resonates with the African American experience and sensibilities  that speak of the travails and triumphs of our journey. The notion is also reflected in expressions embedded in our blues sonnets that interrogate despair and posit hope in lyrics that speak of “further on up the road. ” This is also echoed in the gospel phrase, “just another day’s journey” that signals an ongoing migration of hope and measured optimism, drawing from the spiritual reservoir that sustained the ancestral dream of community. While the country settings are different, there are similar observations that are presented as a montage on the human condition. The people, events and cultural and geographic topography bear witness to the wondrous, the quirky and the inexplicable in our human experience and encounter with life. And while this is a travel blog of cultures and worlds, it also helps us chart the interior spaces and  processes of our own journey of discovery.
